Terms of Use

/terms

Effective 19 October 2026Last updated 19 October 2026

In short
  • Lakeline is a personal toolbox, offered by invitation and free of charge.
  • What you put in stays yours. You can export it or have it deleted.
  • Keep your password, master password and recovery key safe. A lost Vault cannot be recovered.
  • Finance figures help you plan. They are not financial, tax or legal advice.
  • Use Lakeline lawfully, and only with your own data or data you are allowed to use.
  • Lakeline is provided as it is. Keep your own backups of anything important.

01About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and the person who runs Lakeline (“the operator”, “we”). By signing in or using Lakeline, you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use Lakeline.

02Your account

  • Accounts are created by the operator. Public sign-up is closed, and an account is for one person only.
  • Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • If you think someone else has used your account, change your password in Profile and tell the operator straight away.
  • Keep your name and email up to date so you can be reached about your account.

03Your content

Everything you enter or upload, including transactions, notes, canvases, PDFs, pictures, passwords and documents, remains yours. You allow the operator to store it, process it and show it back to you only as needed to run Lakeline for you. This permission ends when your content is deleted.

Only upload content you have the right to use. You are responsible for what you store, including personal data about other people, such as a family member’s documents in Vault.

04Fair use

Don’t use Lakeline to:

  • break the law, or store or share illegal content;
  • try to reach another account’s data, or get around the database rules, encryption or sign-in;
  • probe, scan, overload or disrupt Lakeline or the services it runs on;
  • copy, resell or offer Lakeline as a service to others;
  • sign, change or forge documents in a way that misleads or harms someone.

05Vault and master password

Vault encrypts your data in your browser with a key that only your master password or recovery key can unlock. Neither is ever sent to Lakeline.

The operator cannot reset your master password or decrypt your Vault. If you lose both your master password and your recovery key, everything in your Vault is lost for good. Store the recovery key somewhere safe and offline.

06Finance figures

Finance helps you record and plan your money. Balances, budgets per day, PayLater instalments and other figures are based only on what you enter, and they may be incomplete or wrong. They are not financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Always check important amounts against your bank, e-wallet or PayLater provider before acting on them.

07PDF Tools and signatures

PDF Tools change files on your own device. Check every result before you send or sign it. You are responsible for the documents you sign, stamp, merge or change, and for having the right to do so. A signature you place with PDF Tools is a picture of your signature, not a certified electronic signature.

08Changes and availability

Lakeline is a personal project that changes over time. Features may be added, changed or removed, and changes are listed in the Changelog. Lakeline may be unavailable at times, for example for maintenance or when a service it relies on is down. Keep your own copies of anything important: export your Finance data and download your documents.

09Other services

Lakeline runs on services from other companies, including Supabase for sign-in, the database and file storage, Google Fonts, and jsDelivr. They are not part of this agreement, and their own terms apply to them. The operator is not responsible for their outages or changes.

10No warranty

Lakeline is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. The operator does not promise that it will be error-free, always available, or right for any particular purpose.

11Liability

As far as the law allows, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential losses. This includes lost data, lost money or missed payments that result from using Lakeline or not being able to use it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12Ending your use

You can stop using Lakeline at any time and ask the operator to delete your account. The operator may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts Lakeline or other users at risk, and will tell you where reasonable. Once an account is closed, its data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy, so export what you want to keep first.

13Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Any disagreement should first be talked through with the operator; if it can’t be settled that way, it goes to the courts with jurisdiction under Indonesian law.

14Changes and contact

If these terms change, the new version is posted here with a new date, and important changes are announced in the Changelog. If you keep using Lakeline after a change, you accept the new terms. Questions go to the operator, the person who created your Lakeline account.
